Happy Birthday Super Hero! :)

Happy Birthday Papa, I love you! :)

I know that he won't read this post because he barely goes online (still, I know that this is worth the post.)

My Papa is a very busy man. He is busy fixing other people's electric posts somewhere in Saudi Arabia. His work is one of the most accident prone job I know but he works so that we could have a better life. I think he's been there for more than 20 years. He and mama even met in Saudi and Kuya and I were born there.

He sacrificed a lot for us and one day, I know I can give it all back to him. Not that he's asking anything in return but when the time comes that he will retire, I want him to just relax and have fun with his true love (that's mama!) He maybe thousand miles away but he always tries to reach out to us. He would call in any random time and we talk about everything/anything under the sun. Whenever he goes home during summer, we really try to fill up the lost time.

I'm just so proud of myself to make my father very happy during my graduation day ( I remember crying when they told me he can't attend my graduation then it was all a joke. Ugh!) I really can feel his happiness because a year before, Kuya was the one who graduated. During my brother's graduation, I saw my father standing in the center of the parent's seats and just observing and smiling. I went to him and ask him "why is he smiling to himself?' and he said that "He is very proud of my brother and he felt that it is one of his achievements too."

I know that every kid has their own Super Hero but my father will always be Superman, Spiderman, Batman at kung ano pa man because he's THE MAN. :)

Happy Birthday Papa! :)

Happy Father's Day Papa

Happy Father's Day to all the Fathers out there. Of course, Happy Father's Day to my Superman, my Papa.

I've been thinking what entry would I post here because I have already posted the different versions of Dance with my Father on my last posts. So this time, this post will be dedicated only to my Papa.

This is an old entry from an internet meme i made last year (2010). On Day 4: Post the 7 people who inspires you. Click here for the link of that blog post..

Anyway, this is the post I've included on the 7th person who inspires me. And yes, the most influential :)

7. My father, Mr. Reynaldo B. Andaya, working outside the country for his family's future. That's what my Papa does. My Papa's story might be an ordinary story but for me this is a special story that I would remember for the rest of my life. Papa came from a poor family in Bataan. Lolo is a farmer while my Lola is a plain housewife. My Papa is the 3rd child from the eight siblings. Being one of the oldest, he learned to work in an early age. He works on their farm early morning then proceed to school after he handed all his earnings to Lola. He even told me that he experienced self pity wherein his baon is just tuyo (dried fish)and rice wrapped in a banana leaf while his classmates have adobo, fried chicken etc. Someone even exchanged baon with Papa because he (his classmate) wanted to taste the tuyo. Papa didn't finish technical school to go to Saudi Arabia so that he could earn more money for his family.
That's where he met his true love. :) And yes, that's my Mama. :)
Papa is a man who has a vision of giving a good education for his children. He promised his self that he should be able to let his children finish their studies. If you could just see the smile on his face when he attended Kuya's graduation. Its the best smile I have ever seen.
He wanted us to dream higher and be a better person. He is a very loving husband. Everytime my Mama gets angry he just smiles. He calls more than three times a day to Mama *sweetest*. Whenever I tell him my impossible dreams, he would just smile and say "Maabot mo din yan mag-aral ka lang mabuti." Whenever i turn to him in times that my world is falling apart, when I feel insecure or anything he would say " Kaya mo 'yan, ikaw pa." These words can be said by anyone but when it came from my father I know it is very sincere. And another plus for Papa, HE KNOWS ABOUT VAMPIRE DIARIES before i even watch it. haha! COOOOOLLLLEEESSSTTT FATHER EVER! I love you Papa, so much as well as Mama.
Mr. Reynaldo Andaya, you inspire me a lot. :)

This post was published on 2010 (I'm still at school.) Now, I already graduated.. so maybe things are falling into place for our family. So yeah! Cheers to all the awesome Fathers out there! :)

Dance with my father

Father's day Celebration is fast approaching and I'm really fascinated with the song of Luther Vandross Dance with my father (eversince I heard it).. Actually, I'm one of the people who still has my father beside me (though, not literally, he's in Saudi Arabia to work). I'm so thankful that God always guides my Papa each and everyday. yes, I'm a Papa's girl. Super. Whenever there are Father/daughter & Father/son scenes in any movies that I watch, I'm always affected. I love my Papa so much. Though, I'm not a super fan of superman, HE's my superman.

I have friends who already lost their fathers that's why I'm also affected with this song.. I may not feel their lost, but as a daughter you know that it will really hurt to lose a Father. Sometimes, I wish that they could dance with their father again....

"When I and my mother will disagree
To get my way I would run from her to him
He'd make me laugh just to comfort me
Yeah, yeah, then finally make me do just what my mama says

Later that night when I was asleep
He left a dollar under my sheet"

This lyrics always makes me cry... Because its so me and my Papa... haha!

Below are some fan made videos of the song and different renditions of singers:

Dance with my Father Joseph McElderry's version :)

A heartbreaking music video... It brought tears to my eyes. aaaawww.

The fat girl in the group

I've been a fat kid ever since. It's not that I'm very proud of it. There are times that I feel awful of my body too but you know what? I never felt that way... The "it sucks being the fat girl in the group?!". My friends never let me feel that way. Maybe I'm just lucky enough that I'm surrounded by awesome people.

I don't want to be fat forever not because I want people to want me more but to be able to work easier and to be healthy.

I also have many insecurities, I just don't want people esp. girls to always feel bad for themselves. You should learn to embrace your body and when you can, try to find ways to make you healthier and happier.

To tell you the truth, I don't get it why some girls tell everyone that they're fat when they are skinny or just have the normal body weight.  If that's your definition of fat, then what am I?

The most awesome gift

I was watching TV Patrol News 3 nightss ago when they featured two sick little kids who requested for a robot and a laptop for Christmas. The little boy said "gushto ko robot yun may ilaw." and the chubby kid said "laptop (not to play games) but to chat with her mother who is an OFW.

Suddenly, I miss the little me during Christmastime, the girl who doesn't demand anything. I have my own wishes but I don't say it out loud. Any gift will do. Swear. I'm just happy to open gifts. I'm happier to see that I have a gift in my Christmas Stockings.

I don't know how I found out that Santa Claus is not true. I remember I didn't get mad and just laughed when I learned that all the gifts were bought by Tita courtesy of Mama and Papa. I even remember that Santa (hmm?) always write me a letter together with the gifts! haha.

Now, that I'm older I wish for more. I want this, I want that but I can't have it. But, beyond the material things I know that I am already a grown up. I remember when I was 16 years old, all i wished is to have a peace of mind and heart. Never mind my reason. :))
And the greatest wish is to have my Mama and Papa during Christmastime and my Birthday. I remember when Mama (first time after so many years) was here on my birthday, that was one of my happiest moments.

Eversince, I'm wishing for Papa. Do you remember when you are a kid? When you wish for a big gift? That's what I always wish for, he doesn't even have to be put in a box. I just want him, as he calls Mama to fetch him in NAIA then I would accompany her. I want that scene to happen during Christmastime. I want to have Noche Buena with Kuya, Mama, Tita and Papa. I want to sleep at Christmas Night and wake up the next day wherein my family's complete. Celebrating my birthday.

I know that would happen, not now but maybe next year? or Few years from now.

day seven: five songs that describe your life right now

SONG 1. I think God Explain
"It's alright I'm O.K.
I think God can explain
I'm relieved I'm relaxed
I'll get over it yet."
Whenever I'm troubled, I just listen to this song and I'll be okay. I know God has deeper plans for me. :) even if I don't understand at times, He always find a way to comfort me. :)

SONG 2. True Colors

"So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors,
True colors, are beautiful,
Like a rainbow."

I'm a girl who is a size 14 :) but it has never get on my way. I'm glad that I have family and friends who accept me as who I am. But, we are not living on a perfect world, there are times that I feel really bad because I can't buy clothes that I want. And even if I don't really mind them, some rude people are really getting on my nerves. I just hope some girls could be positive who has the same situation like me. So what if you don't have a perfect body? Who cares, you are who you are. Stay close to people who will appreciate and love you without any why's. Those people are angels sent by God. :) If I would want to be thinner, Its not because others want it for me, not because I want to be like those famous girls out there strutting their stuff. I will do it for myself especially because I want to wear those awesome clothes that doesn't have bigger sizes and I want to be healthy. :)

SONG 3. Once in a lifetime

I know that what I've found is once in a lifetime
(and) I know there's no way out
Coz its once in a lifetime

this is a song for my friends. I'm so glad that they were sent to me, in the right time and in the right place.
I always remember that GG quote whenever I'm with my friends, "With friends like these, who needs armies?"

SONG 4. God Blessed the Broken Road

I've been talking about this song a lot of times. i love the lyrics so much, and someday..... Okay next. :)

SONG 5. I'll be there for you by Martin Nievera
"when the stars won't shine anymore, i'll be there"
This is our song, Trixie (my dearest sister/bestfriend) and me. This song is a reminder of a beautiful friendship. I just hope everyone has a bestfriend. A person who will still be true when everyone else is lying on your face. Someone who would be there when you want someone to listen. Just listen. :)

day four: seven people who inspire you, and why?

1. Mitch Albom - all his books never fail to inspire me. After I read five people you meet in heaven, I dream of publishing an inspirational book/novel someday. He is not afraid to tell his readers his own story. He is also a generous and helpful human being. Something that I dream to be someday - to inspire. The Have a little Faith book changed my life. :)

2. Mr. Guillermo Santos my professor in my Journalism subjects. If he would be introduced on programs/seminars, we (the journalism students) would laugh because of his many achievements. It would take 10 minutes or more to recite all his accomplishments. His memory is very sharp (esp. history!) even if he's already old. He is very intelligent and knowledgeable but very considerate (oh! except in writing straight news!) FYI, he was offered by President Ramos to be his Press Secretary but he refused. He thought that it would be biased as a journalist. Despite his many commitments he still teaches. He thought tha the credibility of Journalists are decreasing that's is why he wants to train (us.) Unlike the other professors, he would go to class punctually and regularly. He would just dismiss us early if he has meeting. We need more professors like him; dedicated, passionate, tactful and has concern for his students. Rock on, sir! :)

OH MY GOSH! THIS IS HARD. I need to skip some numbers. Sorry.

3.

4.

5.

6. Bianca Gonzalez, she may have the most number of mentions in my blog but I will never be ashamed of it. She inspires me a lot. There's something in her that would always make me smile. She was just a regular, shy school girl but look at her now she is a tv host/model/ unicef advocate. That's what i dream to be, someone who is still simple and friendly even if she has already achieved her dreams. She also values friendship so much :) (OMG! I sound like a stalker here, haha!) My friends know how much I love Bianca Gonzalez. She's my role model! :) Try to read her blog: superbianca.blogspot.com so that you would understand me.

7. My father, Mr. Reynaldo B. Andaya, working outside the country for his family's future. That's what my Papa does.
