Last weekend (Saturday to be exact!), I went to SuperSale Bazaar at World Trade Center with my bestfriend Trixie. I don't have plans to buy some stuff because I don't have a budget. Still, I told Trixie that I will just let go (haha!) of my money when I find something very unique and vintage-y. I found stalls that sell plus size clothes but I moved on to other stalls. I saw a cute new pair of sneakers (from the maker of Toms shoes) but I didn't have enough money.... then I stumbled (not literally) on Junk Studio's stall. At first, I only saw her collection of tanzan rings (sooo cute! I really want to buy everything!)
I did not notice the book lockets when I first drop by the stall (sorry na sa singkit!! haha). The second time around (LOL!), I saw these!!!!!!!
Many favorite books but too bad I don't have a budget so I chose my most favorite as of the moment...

I am very overwhelmed because of this book. I loved David Levithan since Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist & Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List but I love him even more because of this.
I realized that Paul's town is a happy land for the LGBT Community. Paul is loved by his family. They know that he is gay but they accepted him eversince. They never tried to put him down. They embraced him wholly. Also, in his school they are free. Everyone can be their selves though there are still kids who are confused with who they really are (sounds like real life right?)
I cannot help but wish that some day when I wake up I am already living in a world where Paul lives. I wish this for all my awesome friends and loved ones. "They don't need to be perfect but they can be their selves." :)
Paul is a strong and happy person. He loves organizing things (reminds me a lot of many of my gay friends.) When they organize something, it is always fabulous and fun. They are very talented like Paul.
Paul is a very good friend to everybody, he listens whenever someone needs to let all their feelings out.
Infinite Darlene. I love her openness to everything. I think she is really the representation for EQUALITY. Darlene is very gay but s/he is also the quarterback. How awesome is that? As in, I can imagine this book turned into a movie. So cute!
Kyle. more people are like him. Confused about who he is or who will he be in front of the society...
Joni. I love her even if she's kinda stubborn. she's the girl bestfriend of Paul.
Amber. She is really a strong willed girl, love her too.
We have a crazy world but I want to believe that it is a wonderful place too. If we can just learn to respect and accept everybody like the characters in Boy meets Boy. I recommend it to everyone. :)

This is the first book that i'm reading written by John Green. I was not supposed to read it this month. I was just taking a break while writing on my journal when I saw the book and started reading the 1st chapter and then I cannot bring it down anymore. hahaha. Since high school, this book is always mentioned in our literary discussions. I remember that it is one of the many choices of books that we can write a review. But, I chooe to write a review of Five People you meet in heaven by Mitch Albom (super favorite book in the whole wide world, aside from Have a little faith). I really wanted to read Catcher in the rye but I was really hooked on other genres at that time.
It is one of the most controversial books of all time. It was even included in the banned books and now, that I have read it, I know why. *smile*

Honestly, I got bored on the first few pages but I kept in mind that there's a reason why everybody loves it. Holden Caulfield is such a badass! I love him. Especially, his relationship with his sister Phoebe. I really felt that Phoebe is the reason why Holden is still sane. The last few pages of the book is very heartfelt. Full of life lessons.
I love Phoebe. I wish I have a sister like her but at least I have an awesome big brother! :) It will inspire anyone who is lost with life.

To be able to appreciate the book, one should have an open mind. Well, all the people I know who loves to read different genres of books are open minded people. I'm just glad that I have read this book now. Maybe, when I've read it in high school I would not appreciate the book as much as I do now. I have a different mindset back then. Haha!

I've come to know this book from my friend Kianah. She tagged us a photo from a page of the book and I was intrigued. When I went to their house last December, I saw this on her bedroom and read it right away. Every page has few words but full of wisdom.

Yehey! I'm so happy I completed my goal, two weeks and 5 days before the year ends.
I'm so happy. 60 books, hmm not bad for me. I never really had reading goals before. I usually read books whenever I want to escape from reality (trust me, this means always) and read another if I have spare time. I have a tendency to repeat the book over and over again (*ehem* Norwegian Wood).
This year, its different! I challenged myself to read more. I really want to change my goal to 100 but, I have doubts! haha! Don't worry next year, I might challenge myself to 80-100 books.
And I still have 3 books in my currently reading list and I just hope I could finish it before the year ends. :)

We talked about the book when Airiz told me that she bought it because she read in the back cover that the story tells that love is a disease. Interesting! Isn't it?

THE TRUTH ABOUT FOREVER
I finished reading this last week, it has a simple plot but it will stay in you heart forever. i swear. This book tells about letting go and allowing yourself to be happy again. :)
Because of this book, I now have some of her books! I'll start reading it after I finished Queen of Babble.
Before Ever After by Samantha Sotto (I'm so proud of you Ms. Samantha! Yes, guys! She's a Filipina) :)
As much as I'm a fan of Happy "Never" Endings, I also adore happy endings. I came to love Shelley as I am traveling (meaning: I enjoy reading the book) with her. I can say that I loooove Max's stories but there are times that I go back to some pages just to remember the other stories. Still, I really find them very believable!
I learned life lessons in the book. Many life lessons.
I admire Shelley, I even share some of Shelley's frustrations about life. Like Shelley, I fall in love with Max and his chickens! :)
"Escape" -- she wanted to do that with her life but the trip taught her the opposite.
I was really attached with the other characters that I cried with them as they share the most painful moments of their lives.
I ♥ everyone but Dex (story) pinched my heart the most and Rose' courage occupied a big space in my heart. :) Who are they? well... Read the book!

The book is making me smile, cry and be "kilig"... As much as I want to know if Shelley will still have the chance to see Max, I want to take my time as the characters travel Europe.

Perfect Chemistry, Rules of Attraction and Chain Reaction
If you just want to read a feel good books, something light that could make you smile and cry a little bit. :) It also involves peer pressure, FAMILY, friends and yeah another take on
bad boy meets good girl...
I just started reading perfect chemistry while i've read Chain reaction (3rd book) two days ago. It was an honest mistake. I didn't know the book has connection or something but my friend said its okay because the plots of the books can stand individually. Perfect chemistry is about Alex Fuentes, (my friend Ghel said) Rules of Attraction is about Carlos Fuentes and Chain Reaction, about Luis Fuentes.
Even if I'm still halfway on reading perfect chemistry and I haven't started R. A. yet, I prefer Chain reaction the most because i like Luis and his story, his cool... Anyway, I don't want to be a spoiler so just google it up or search it in goodreads if you're interested. :) Happy Reading!

After I watched the movie, I had a chitchat with a friend and we agreed that its like the 2011 "If Only." Well, of course, If Only is IF ONLY. I can't even decide if it is a lighter version or the opposite.
One thing that caught my eyes as I watch the trailer (aside from Anne Hathaway), is the locations where the movie was shot. I google-d it and learned that the movie was shot in some parts of England, Scotland and France --my dream travel places!!!
Jim Sturgess and Anne Hathaway are fine as Dex and Emma. I found myself attached to Emma because in some parts of the film she is a fresh graduate and a struggling writer. *okay lets end it with that* Debbie and I were giggling during the movie because we were connecting ourselves with Emma (we said "ayan.. ayan nangyayari sa atin e. Buti pa si Emma kahit struggling may bestfriend na gwapo at may kwartong malakas makatumblr.")
Very true. The movie has a tumblr-y vibes. I really love the film's cinematography!!!! (OMG, myself stop it! haha) Anne Hathaway's british accent in the movie is kinda too much but atleast she tried. (Oh em!! I am so biased about Anne!!! haha)
A cry baby
I love how the picturesque views were incorporated as Emma and Dex have their playful banters and pinch to the heart moments. My heart broke when Emma said " I LOVE YOU DEX BUT I DON'T LIKE YOU ANYMORE!" Tears started to roll down in my eyes when Dex announced to Emma that he'll have a shotgun wedding. At that time, i really want to scream in the cinema and scream to Emma "OH MY GOSH! EMMA TELL HIM WHAT YOU REALLY FEEEEEEL! NOOOOOOW!" But, hello?! I would really embarrass myself so I let it go...
Though, there are times that I find the movie a little bit boring in the middle part... pero its okay pa rin naman.
I admit that I'm really a cry baby to any movies that have sensible weeping/crying/heartbreaking scenes. I also always get teary eyed but in One Day I really cried. I am sniffing in an entire heartbreaking scene (sobrang nakakahiya!) Dex is living a miserable life that even i can feel the pain (woooosh*)...
The funny part
I was so into the film when I looked at my friend Debbie, she was weeping!!! She is drying her tears with her hands with complete heavy breathing and loud sobs. THEN I LAUGHED!!!! The scenes in the film were very intense and I was trying not to laugh hard at Debbie! but I did!
Even until the end of the movie, Debbie's crying and I said "Stop it now! People might be confused and tell that i'm the one who made you cry!" haha Her eyes are very puffy and red so as her face! hahahaha! I loooove you my friend! :)) How i wish i could capture that moment too bad I didn't have my camera that time!
Going back
Debbie told me she cried so much because Dex and Emma waited for so long to admit that they are each other's soulmate! They've waited for that perfect moment. Everything is almost in the right place. We both agree on the scene wherein he is finding comfort in her daughter...
THAT heartbreaking scene when she tried holding her daughter's arm and she pushed his arm's away...
But the most painful is Dex's conversation with his father. He thinks he can't live his life again and his Dad said something like this
"YES, YOU CAN. That's what I'm doing for the last 10 years of my life." (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwww)
Honestly, I am such a fan of tragic, unhappy endings but this movie really broke my heart. It even made me wish that Emma and Dex should have their happy ending As I said, "Sa dami ng pinagdaanan nilang hirap.. OKAY NA! I want them to be happy!!)
My bad! i was given what i want but it didn't make me happy.. Still, I am VERY. touched.
ONE DAY reminds us that anything could happen so don't ever let go of those moments. Embrace those beautiful moments and hug tighter those painful memories because when you remember the pain, you will realize that it hurts because it is TRUE and you have given your all.
In time, you'll be okay and say "We may not have yesterday and tomorrow but we have today...." :)
The Book
I have included the book in my "to read" list in goodreads when I saw it on a book recommendations of my favorite magazine. I really want to read the book first but I remember how I always end up dissatisfied whenever I watch film adaptation of novels that i have read first.
I reminded myself that I wanted to feel the moment. I don't want to compare, I just want to watch a movie that's it! I really want to read the book and I'm sure i will cry buckets of tears! haha.
Once in awhile, movie first before the book. No questions, no confusions. just enjoy the moment and be surprised. :)
