#my500words: Concerts

*free writing*

The first real concert I've been to was two years ago. I always wanted to feel the concert-vibe every concertgoers feel. I love many artists but I haven't been to their concerts because I was just a student that time. My entire budget is dedicated for school works, project, school paper, and many more things related to being a college student.

I was very sad when Katy Perry went in the country again. I logged out my twitter so I can’t see happy tweets because I was very bitter at that time. I remember I have a conversation with some of my close friends and promised that next time we should save up for the future concerts of our favourite artists.
Of course, it does not happen in a snap.

Until, I was hired in a publishing company focusing on everything events.

I had my first concert experience and it was with one of my childhood best friends. Secondhand Serenade live in Manila. The concert actually brought back many memories. John Vesely’s (Secondhand Serenade) music was a big part of my high school and pre-college life. My friends and I sing along to his songs until we’re out of breath. We sang all our frustrations through his songs. At that time, people tell that most of his songs are bittersweet and mostly “emo.” But, we don’t care all his lyrics are heartfelt and heart wrenching. Seconhand’s concert brought goose bumps to us because it was so nice to hear the songs live and actually sing along with him. I even screamed my heart out when he finally sang his fan-favourite “Fall for you.” But, he had me with vulnerable because that was my favourite. That night, I was so glad I turned down other concert invites in the past months because I made sure that the first concert I will be in to should be a memorable one and something that I really like.

So maybe here’s a list of some of the concerts I’ve attended that are the closest to my heart.

Dia Frampton Live in Manila – This concert almost didn’t happen but thanks to Dia Frampton’s fans *ehem*, it was made possible. I’ve been dying to meet Dia eversince she auditioned for The Voice US.  She was really familiar to me until I realized that I have listened to some of her songs back in college. My dear friend, Rei recommended their band Meg and Dia to me before. So when she said that she’ll have a concert in Hard Rock Café, I was really looking forward to it. It was really the best. Dia is known to be a shy girl in The Voice but when she sings she turns into a confident and awesome musician. I’m so glad I experienced it live. She was so bubbly and funny. Added points, she was with her boyfriend Danny Bemrose (who plays the guitar for her. Aaaww) and their little banters make the audience more “kilig.” She is more awesome live, gosh! In the meet and greet and cd signing, Dia made me love her more when she was supposed to sit behind a table but she decided to stand up so her fans won’t have a hard time to hug her and made a chitchat. I even had to get my friend’s peace sign bracelets to give to Dia because I forgot to bring something for her. She is so wonderful. Looking forward for her next concert.
This 2014, she’ll have another concert in Hard Rock and she is bringing her sister Meg Frampton *tears*. The Meg and Dia band separated ways last years for some reasons but Dia kept her promise to the fans. She’ll be back with Meg. Oh dear Dia, God bless your heart. J

I was Secondhand Serenaded!!!

Yes! I got the chance to watch John Veseley LIVE!
I always love his songs, his album were the soundtrack of my highschool life. I just can't get over it! I'm also glad to watched it with my childhood bestfriend Glenelyn! :) My best buds and office mates are also there but they have a media pass because they're going to cover the event.

I'm just so happy the night and the fan girls are A W E S O M E!!!! haha Everyone's screaming and the best thing about it is the crowd is singing with him!

"Tonight will be the night that I will fall for you..."

"Reach for the sky, I would pick you up if I could..."

"I was born to tell you I love you..."

"I can see it in your eyes that you're so sure, please don't tell me that i'm the only one that's vulnerable!"

"The whispers turn to shouting, shouting turns to tears your tears turn to laughters..."

His song list is great, just great!
I wish I had it but it was given to a fan after the concert! :)

with Len! (Glenelyn)

with Ken and Airiz

Enjoyed the night!

Currently listening...

My itunes has new songs everyday. I had the new album of Lady Antebellum, Yehey! I'm so happy! :) So, I'm sharing some of the songs here. I hope you'll like it too. :)

Just a Kiss - Lady Antebellum

Just a kiss on your lips in the moonlight
Just a touch of the fire burning so bright
No, I don't want to mess this thing up
I don't want to push too far

Just a shot in the dark that you just might
Be the one I've been waiting for my whole life
So baby, I'm alright with just a kiss goodnight

Somewhere Love Remains - Lady Antebellum

You say don't walk away
But baby give me one good reason
More than just a line
You better make it count this time
You told me but you never really showed me
That I'm worth the fight
Oh I'm worth the fight

Dancin' away with my heart - Lady Antebellum

I haven't seen you in ages
Sometimes I find myself
wondering where you are
for me you'll always be 18
and beautiful and dancing away with my heart

Honestly, this song is on repeat. I don't know, I think its well written and even if I didn't experience something like this (haha!), its nice to reminisce some young love. :)

If I die young - The Band Perry

Currently listening....

As much as I love books, I also love music... That is why, I decided to make "currently listening..." like my usual "Currently reading..." blog posts.

Whenever I love a song, I have the tendency to put it on repeat... When I listen to songs in my Itunes, I usually choose the "top 25 most played" playlist. On the top of my list is Landslide -- a cover of Santana  and Britanny in Glee with 135 plays... uh -oh! As of this time... I had a song played 154 times, Leather and Lace -- Casey Weston and Tim Mahoney's version in The Voice... gooosh! :))

It doesn't matter if its classic, pop, rock, ballads.. whatever! anything, I listen to it.... haha!

So now, I'm sharing the songs that I'm really addicted to.. And I hope you'll like it too.

A drop in the ocean by Ron Pope

I don't wanna waste the weekend, If you don't love me, pretend A few more hours, then it's time to go.
And as my train rolls down the East coast, I wonder how you'll keep warm. It's too late to cry, too broken to move on.

I have to admit, I knew this song because of The Vampire Diaries. I think it was played when Stefan called Elena. And really! I died!!!!! kill me, kill me, I got teary eyed hearing Elena's words " I love You Stefan. Hold on to that. Never let that go..."

Fix a heart by Demi Lovato

''It's like your pouring salt on my cuts, you can bandage the damage. You never really can fix a heart.''

Actually, Demi Lovato's Unbroken album is on my playlist, also try Lightweight, Mistake, Give your Heart a Break, (of course) Skyscraper, Together (with Jason Derulo)

How to Love by Lil Wayne

I don't understand why people bash this song and Lil Wayne. Well, I don't know what's up with Lil Wayne and his past but Seriously?, this song has a heart. Listen to the song guys.. Reflect on the lyrics... and the video's good too.

Casey Weston's version of i will always love you in the voice

I'm really not a fan of the song but I could say the original version's still the best (Whitney Houston). But, when I heard Casey's version --its the time that i downloaded the song and listen to it before I go to sleep. She did her own version of the song... and I can say that she nailed it...

So there you go guys, these songs are the ones I listen to before i go to sleep. Whatta lullaby. hmmmm. :)

Shy and Sweet

I really don't know why I decided to have this post but I really want to say something about shy and sweet girls. Back in College (oh gosh! its just 5 months ago), my friends and I always fool around on being shy and sweet. Most of us in the group are literally loud and outgoing. Though, there are times that we just want to keep quiet but on normal days we are really loud and we always talk and talk and talk. Maybe that is the reason why we are amused whenever we encounter people who are genuinely shy and sweet. We really adore them because its like they are so reserved and composed. haha! Something we always try to be but we cannot.

Me and my girls with our friend Jerick.. Haha! I miss them!

The Voice was aired and I found a girl who will be my peg of being genuinely sweet and shy! But, there's a lot more to her, she's very very talented!
I've watched Dia Frampton on TV. Anyone who always goes to youtube will recognize her. She  is youtube famous with her sister Meg. meganddia.

They were introduced to me by my friend Rei before but I didn't really had a chance to listen to all their cover songs. I watched her audition for the voice and that's when I remember her and now, I'm totally addicted to her. Girl crush-ing here. hahaha

If you would just listen to her voice, Gosh! It is very unique that it can even calm your soul. So now, I will share some of my favorite videos of Dia Frampton...

Hmm. To stay connected with our title shy and sweet, everytime you watch Dia perform on stage, her sweetness and shyness will be left backstage and she can do her own thing! She is a very smart performer with so many ideas but after she performs she goes back to being that shy girl. As Blake Shelton says, " a girl stood out here on the stage and perform with her heart and soul."

Dia Frampton's cover of The First Cut is the Deepest by Sheryl Crowe

Dia's cover on Bless the Broken Road (my super duper favorite song of Rascal Flatts)

Dia's cover of mean by Taylor Swift

Dia's version of Losing Religion by REM THE VOICE PERFORMANCE :)

I looooooooove her! haha :)

Indescribable

For almost a week, I've been listening to songs about God, love for God and everything about Him. I have always payed attention to lyrics of every song that I listen to and end up listening to it for weeks, even for a month.

Last December 2010, my friend Gen and i started to send songs to each other. Actually, it was last year when Gen and I started to have conversations about Him. I think it was really because of our Logic Professor's influence. It all started with Do you read the bible? :) The rest is history.

I remember the little me, I can remember in details that when I graduated in Elementary, aside from having a Silver Medal, I was also awarded best in religion. :) I think it all started when I was young. I was born in Middle East Country with Filipino parents who are Roman Catholics. I cannot say that they are very religious but they have strong faith.

My faith became stronger because of my aunt too. My family has great influence with my love for Him. My kuya and I are attentive during mass and it excites us whenever we're the ones who will offer during the offertory. At an early age, they taught us how to behave whenever we're in church.

When you're growing up there are times that your faith is shattered. I am just thankful that they pushed (haha) me to enroll in a Catholic School (CSA-Biñan) that time. I really wanted to go to CASA because its the sister school of Montessori and that's where my friends are going (but something happened blah blah blah! anyway, Thank God I went to CSA).

When I entered college, all the values i learned in CSA where treasured in my heart until now. But, I am growing up. The harder the challenges are, the more times I question Him. Its hard to have a stronger faith when you feel that everything's falling apart. Still, I believed in Him. And that belief taught me how to hold on. Taught me things that I thought I would never learn.

Whenever I have unanswered questions, I always end up praying. I pray until the doubts would go away. When I started to read the bible again, I end up crying because I'm reading a verse that feels like He's talking to me. It always bring me to tears whenever I call up to Him and ends up that He is touching my heart to heal the scars.

If only more people would listen through their heart, if only they would just open it for Him... then life would be lighter.

I'm just thankful for this songs that my friends are recommending me, Jeff and Gen. Thank You:)) Its funny because I also recommend it to my other friends.

Me, years ago
(DEAR GOD Fm Static)

I've tried everything I thought might help me understand things
And it didn't tell me anything or even play my heart strings
So I'm writing You this letter to wait for Your reply
'Cause I am so tired of not believing I'll give You a try

(I think God can explain)

It's all right, I'm O.K.,
I think God can explain,

Me, whenever I have questions
Heart of Worship

When the music fades
And all is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that's of worth
That will bless your heart

Me, (recommended by Gen :) My love song for Him
Enough Chris Tomlin

All of You is more than enough for all of me
For every thirst and every need
You satisfy me with Your love
And all I have in You is more than enough

And my LSS for I don't know until when (thanks Jeff),

ALL FOR LOVE ♥ Hillsong United

"FOR HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I BROKEN YOUR HEART, STILL YOU FORGIVE ME"
--brings me to tears. THANK YOU.

The music of my 2010

Music is life. Yes it is. I remember when I was 12 years old, I love Pop Music. So yeah! I'm a 90s baby so I know every boy bands out there. I still love some of them but some also made me "why the hell did I even listen to them before?!"

I'm not a music enthusiast, an expert or whatever. I just know well my favorites but I am more on the song and lyrics person so I got random artists on my playlists. This year I even depend my downloads on the music used in my best loved series. So aside from Glee, I love Gossip Girl's Playlist and The Vampire Diaries.

2010 is one heck of a rollercoaster ride. I can never really tell but because of these songs I've been okay. I survived though some just made me more devastated. Some of
the songs were way too old but they stayed on my playlist the whole year. :)

So i thank them and here's playback time. :)

Taylor the latte Boy by Kristin Chenoweth
This song never fails to make me laugh. So cuute. A breathe of fresh air whenever life's sad. :)

Wreck of the Day sung by Anna Nalick

"I'd cheat destiny just to be near you
If this is giving up, then I'm giving up
If this is giving up, then I'm giving up, giving up
On love, On love"

So yeah, its about giving up but its really a feel good so
ng for me. :)) I also love Anna Nalick's voice.

In Another Life sung by Ashlee Simpson

I don't what year does this song became popular but this year it is included on my playlist. Haha. I love the "IN ANOTHER LIFE YOU MUST HAVE BEEN MINE"

Heartbreak Warfare sung by John Mayer

My loorves song will always be on my playlist! So love him and his songs, too bad I wasn't able to watch his concert. :))
So I just listen to his Battle Studies Album always. :)

Love the way you lie by Eminem ft. Rihanna

Who doesn't even know this song? Come on it was played on YOUTUBE so many times, Radio statio
ns, myx,etc etc
I like the video too. It fits the song though watching the video makes me sick. I even had a discussion with my Kuya that maybe "LOVE LIKE THAT EXISTS..," gosh.

Firework sung by Katy Perry

When I've seen the making of the video, I fell inlove with the song. I said why didn't this song existed before. Many people need this. They need more motivation and inspiration. Im a Katy Perry fan. I know she's tactless at times. Everytime she has issues I'm disappointed but I still love her. Her songs are cool and awesome. Simple and not too trying hard. :) Her album is also the album of my year together with Demi Lovato and John Mayer's Battle Studies.
And this song is also memorable, we performed this song for CASAP
MANIA. HAHA. We're laughing hard while performing because the steps were only taught hours before we'll perform. :))

Differences sung by Ginuwine

I just love the song. :) Sweet <3

P.S. Im still not over you- rihanna

This song has been on loop for three weeks. Okay kill me. hahaha. i looove it so much!

Songs many songs

but 3 got my Album of the year :)

They may not be the awesome role models for some people but for me they are. They are just REAL from the reel world. They're songs are awesome too, just the way they are.

P.S. I just hope Demi Lovato will get well soon. I miss her. :))
