#my500words: Concerts

*free writing*

The first real concert I've been to was two years ago. I always wanted to feel the concert-vibe every concertgoers feel. I love many artists but I haven't been to their concerts because I was just a student that time. My entire budget is dedicated for school works, project, school paper, and many more things related to being a college student.

I was very sad when Katy Perry went in the country again. I logged out my twitter so I can’t see happy tweets because I was very bitter at that time. I remember I have a conversation with some of my close friends and promised that next time we should save up for the future concerts of our favourite artists.
Of course, it does not happen in a snap.

Until, I was hired in a publishing company focusing on everything events.

I had my first concert experience and it was with one of my childhood best friends. Secondhand Serenade live in Manila. The concert actually brought back many memories. John Vesely’s (Secondhand Serenade) music was a big part of my high school and pre-college life. My friends and I sing along to his songs until we’re out of breath. We sang all our frustrations through his songs. At that time, people tell that most of his songs are bittersweet and mostly “emo.” But, we don’t care all his lyrics are heartfelt and heart wrenching. Seconhand’s concert brought goose bumps to us because it was so nice to hear the songs live and actually sing along with him. I even screamed my heart out when he finally sang his fan-favourite “Fall for you.” But, he had me with vulnerable because that was my favourite. That night, I was so glad I turned down other concert invites in the past months because I made sure that the first concert I will be in to should be a memorable one and something that I really like.

So maybe here’s a list of some of the concerts I’ve attended that are the closest to my heart.

Dia Frampton Live in Manila – This concert almost didn’t happen but thanks to Dia Frampton’s fans *ehem*, it was made possible. I’ve been dying to meet Dia eversince she auditioned for The Voice US.  She was really familiar to me until I realized that I have listened to some of her songs back in college. My dear friend, Rei recommended their band Meg and Dia to me before. So when she said that she’ll have a concert in Hard Rock Café, I was really looking forward to it. It was really the best. Dia is known to be a shy girl in The Voice but when she sings she turns into a confident and awesome musician. I’m so glad I experienced it live. She was so bubbly and funny. Added points, she was with her boyfriend Danny Bemrose (who plays the guitar for her. Aaaww) and their little banters make the audience more “kilig.” She is more awesome live, gosh! In the meet and greet and cd signing, Dia made me love her more when she was supposed to sit behind a table but she decided to stand up so her fans won’t have a hard time to hug her and made a chitchat. I even had to get my friend’s peace sign bracelets to give to Dia because I forgot to bring something for her. She is so wonderful. Looking forward for her next concert.
This 2014, she’ll have another concert in Hard Rock and she is bringing her sister Meg Frampton *tears*. The Meg and Dia band separated ways last years for some reasons but Dia kept her promise to the fans. She’ll be back with Meg. Oh dear Dia, God bless your heart. J

Currently listening...

My itunes has new songs everyday. I had the new album of Lady Antebellum, Yehey! I'm so happy! :) So, I'm sharing some of the songs here. I hope you'll like it too. :)

Just a Kiss - Lady Antebellum

Just a kiss on your lips in the moonlight
Just a touch of the fire burning so bright
No, I don't want to mess this thing up
I don't want to push too far

Just a shot in the dark that you just might
Be the one I've been waiting for my whole life
So baby, I'm alright with just a kiss goodnight

Somewhere Love Remains - Lady Antebellum

You say don't walk away
But baby give me one good reason
More than just a line
You better make it count this time
You told me but you never really showed me
That I'm worth the fight
Oh I'm worth the fight

Dancin' away with my heart - Lady Antebellum

I haven't seen you in ages
Sometimes I find myself
wondering where you are
for me you'll always be 18
and beautiful and dancing away with my heart

Honestly, this song is on repeat. I don't know, I think its well written and even if I didn't experience something like this (haha!), its nice to reminisce some young love. :)

If I die young - The Band Perry

Indescribable

For almost a week, I've been listening to songs about God, love for God and everything about Him. I have always payed attention to lyrics of every song that I listen to and end up listening to it for weeks, even for a month.

Last December 2010, my friend Gen and i started to send songs to each other. Actually, it was last year when Gen and I started to have conversations about Him. I think it was really because of our Logic Professor's influence. It all started with Do you read the bible? :) The rest is history.

I remember the little me, I can remember in details that when I graduated in Elementary, aside from having a Silver Medal, I was also awarded best in religion. :) I think it all started when I was young. I was born in Middle East Country with Filipino parents who are Roman Catholics. I cannot say that they are very religious but they have strong faith.

My faith became stronger because of my aunt too. My family has great influence with my love for Him. My kuya and I are attentive during mass and it excites us whenever we're the ones who will offer during the offertory. At an early age, they taught us how to behave whenever we're in church.

When you're growing up there are times that your faith is shattered. I am just thankful that they pushed (haha) me to enroll in a Catholic School (CSA-Biñan) that time. I really wanted to go to CASA because its the sister school of Montessori and that's where my friends are going (but something happened blah blah blah! anyway, Thank God I went to CSA).

When I entered college, all the values i learned in CSA where treasured in my heart until now. But, I am growing up. The harder the challenges are, the more times I question Him. Its hard to have a stronger faith when you feel that everything's falling apart. Still, I believed in Him. And that belief taught me how to hold on. Taught me things that I thought I would never learn.

Whenever I have unanswered questions, I always end up praying. I pray until the doubts would go away. When I started to read the bible again, I end up crying because I'm reading a verse that feels like He's talking to me. It always bring me to tears whenever I call up to Him and ends up that He is touching my heart to heal the scars.

If only more people would listen through their heart, if only they would just open it for Him... then life would be lighter.

I'm just thankful for this songs that my friends are recommending me, Jeff and Gen. Thank You:)) Its funny because I also recommend it to my other friends.

Me, years ago
(DEAR GOD Fm Static)

I've tried everything I thought might help me understand things
And it didn't tell me anything or even play my heart strings
So I'm writing You this letter to wait for Your reply
'Cause I am so tired of not believing I'll give You a try

(I think God can explain)

It's all right, I'm O.K.,
I think God can explain,

Me, whenever I have questions
Heart of Worship

When the music fades
And all is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that's of worth
That will bless your heart

Me, (recommended by Gen :) My love song for Him
Enough Chris Tomlin

All of You is more than enough for all of me
For every thirst and every need
You satisfy me with Your love
And all I have in You is more than enough

And my LSS for I don't know until when (thanks Jeff),
