November 23, 2009. Maguindanao Massacre: 58 people were murdered and 32 of them are journalists.
Today, November 23, 2011, the family of the victims and mediamen are still seeking for justice.

2 years w/o justice. :'(

As a student journalist, we were all affected by this. I have an in depth knowledge about this case when I had my internship at Center for Media and Responsibility (CMFR). We were assigned to cover the 5th Commemoration of the Massacre and we interviewed some of the victims' families. It is really painful to see them devastated.

Elusive justice

Catherine Nu ñez, mother of UNTV reporter Victor Nuñez, demanded that Agra give them justice rather than clearing the two Ampatuans of the multiple murder charges. “Ginoong Agra, sana po, ‘wag mong ipagkait ang hustisya na hinihingi namin sa aming pamilyang namatay. Maawa ka sa amin. Tao ka rin, wag ka namang magpusong bato(Agra please don’t deny to us the justice that our family asks for our slain loved ones. Have pity on us. Don’t be stone-hearted).

“Ipataw mo ang dapat at karapat-dapat sa amin. Ipataw mo ang desisyon na makatarungan  para naman magbago itong Pilipinas (Give us the justice we deserve. Serve us a just decision so that the Philippines will improve),” said Juliet Evardo, mother of UNTV video editor Jolito Evardo. She also asked Agra to look at the different sides of the case.

The victims’ families asked the cooperation of media to seek justice for the slain journalists. They urged the press to continue the fight with them. “Kaya kayong mga media hinahamon ko kayo, na ‘wag sana niyong [tigilan] ito. Kayo ang paraan para mag-ingay, para ilantad [ito] sa newspaper at TV (I am challenging the media to be the watchdog of this case. You will be the way for this to be broadcasted on newspapers and TV),” said Mary Jane Merisco, wife of Periodico Ini columnist Rey Merisco. “Kaya’t hinahamon ko kayo dahil nakasalalay din sa inyo ang hustisyang hinahanap namin (I challenge you (media) because we rely on you as we seek for justice),” she also added.

I remember in one of our discussions on our Journalism classes, our Professor said that if this case will not be solved and if in the coming years, justice will not be served, there will be no future for media men in our country. :'(

I hope the authorities will open up their mind and be fair in the decisions that they will make.

I'm so excited for the 100th episode because they've shoot scenes that would include the five main characters in one place. It rarely happens. Most of the time, it would just be Blair, Serena, Chuck, or Chuck, Dan, Nate or whatever. I'm really excited!

I've read that this might be the last Season of Gossip Girl. As a fan, I don't want it to end but I think I need to accept that all things come to an end. I know that the writers are really trying hard to give a good story. To end or not to end, I will always be a Gossip Girl TV series fan. :) and one last thing.... PLEASE, DAN/SERENA!!! writers please give them one epic storyline! Please!? Please?! If you 've forgotten, just watch Season 1 again and you'll realize that even if (you say) Blair and Dan are soulmates, Dan and Serena is an endgame from the start!.... Please?

My friend Mj recommended the book Before i Fall by Lauren Oliver to all of us (her bookworm friends.) Then, Airiz told me that Lauren Oliver is also the author of Delirium. We talked about the book when Airiz told me that she bought it because she read in the back cover that the story tells that love is a disease. Interesting! Isn't it?

Unsealed letter in 11:11 11-11-11

I've been thinking of what to post this day. I really don't know what happened to me when I suddenly wished on 11:11 pm, a few days ago. My friend and I were exchanging text messages because I had a very bad day. When the clock strikes 11:11 pm, my friend told me to wish and without even thinking I wished. Maybe, when you are really down and trying to be alright again, you start to believe again.

Actually, I really don't believe in wishing in 11-11, I don't even bother to know its history. It just became familiar because some of my friends believe it. They would even send a group message when its 11-11 pm.

Everyone's so busy planning something special to do on this day. Me? I just think of a special blog to post.

Until, I remember the poem that I made for our Literary Folio (it was released last February), Imaginaccion XIII 2011: Existensia. In this Literary Folio, my friend Airiz is the EIC and Debbie is the Creative Consultant. I am so proud of this book because we gave all our best here especially, the two names I mentioned. :)

I submitted two poems (only one poem got accepted :) ) and some photos that has relevance with the theme. The theme is Existensia: Seven Deadly Sins and Seven Heavenly Virtues.

I know. The song was released two or three years ago but I don't know what happened to me when I heard it again yesterday. haha!
Late last night, the song is on repeat on my itunes and I'm really trying to write a poem base on the song but  the words did not flow freely. I even said to myself... "What is happening?!" haha

then today I tried again..

Who can ever resist this little angel's smile. I just wish my house is near theirs so that I will play with her everyday. Its been months since I saw Eiffel Paris (my inaanak) my god daughter. 

I'm so glad, my friend Nile, always keeps us updated with her princess. 

Call me bias, this next picture will be my favorite picture of her. The reason: the dress she's wearing is   my gift to her on her christening. We gave her fairy tale books on her 1st birthday but maybe she still can't read it (but Nile said, she reads to her always...) Yey!

She is so big nooooow. :'(

I was really touched when Nile said that this dress is Eiffel's favorite. :) My inaanak and I have the same taste! hihi. :)

"It will be alright again"

Honestly, this is really not a good day. Heartbreak day. "Almost but not quite."  
Do you know the feeling when you wished for something big and you know that you have that chance to hold it in your hands? You are just one step away but then reality set in and said "Not yet!"


My hopes are really down but I still believe that God still has something better for me. maybe, something more. Goooosh! This is really hard but, I'm trying to be positive in every way.. (but, I tell you, its really hard.) 


Anyway, to be okay. I talked to my friends. I text Trixie about what happened (I think she's still in class when i sent her the message...), I talked to Debbie and Airiz too. And yes, its a relief to let go of the sadness that you keep inside. After I talked to my friends, I felt better. 


Then, I tried to lift up my mood and find some things over the internet....

hahaha! omnomnomagon? no waay. haha

gosh! I think I need this noooow. :/

I also want to share the line in Post Grad ( I watched it last night in Star movies) that inspired me, "struggle and strife come first before success, even in the dictionary..." :)

I just hope in my bad day, I have also shared something that could inspire everyone. Have a good night looorves. :)

Piliin mo ang Pilipinas (Choose Philippines)

This was performed by El Gamma Penumbra in the Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) grand finals. I already saw a performance like this in America's Got Talent but El Gamma's performance really gave me goosebumps. It also got me teary eyed when they do the unity between religion, gave chills to my spine! It was disappointing that they didn't win but the best thing is they won the hearts of the Filipinos. Actually they really won my heart! Awesome! :)

She's forever 21

Debbie's 21st birthday (October 27, 2011), days before her special day, I asked her what she'll do. She said she will just go to mass and figure out afterwards. I'm a good friend *haha* so I offered to attend mass with her. We went to Greenbelt Church and the priest's homily feels like it is really for us. He said " Be patient, stay courageous and never lose hope." :)

After that we decided to have lunch. Lunch on a budget but try something new. Then, I told the birthday girl to check on Marciano's menu and she agreed. So here's our lunch and desserts at Qoola.
